You can reach the editorial team at contact@cryptocurrency.irish. There is no contact form and no phone line, which means we do not collect more of your data than an email requires. Details of how we handle it are in our privacy policy.
What to write to us about
We are glad to hear about:
- Corrections. A fact, figure, date or link on a page that is wrong or out of date. Please tell us which page, which line, and, ideally, where the correct information is published. A link to a regulator, Revenue or a company's own page is the most useful thing you can send.
- Source updates. A rule, fee, limit or regulatory status that has changed since the "facts last checked" date on a page.
- Gaps. A question about crypto in Ireland that our pages do not answer clearly.
- Accessibility or technical problems with the site.
- Press or editorial questions. Say who you are and what you are working on.
What to expect back
We read what arrives, and we prioritise corrections, particularly about tax, regulation and safety. We do not promise a fixed reply time, because the site is run by a small team and some corrections need us to check a primary source first. If we change a page because of your message, we update its "updated" date and, where it matters, note the correction on the page. Our methodology page explains our corrections policy.
We will not always reply to messages that are not about the site's content, and we may not reply at all to unsolicited sales pitches.
What we cannot do
We are an information site, so there are things we cannot help with, however much we would like to:
- Personal advice. We cannot tell you what to buy, whether to sell, how to file your own tax return or what your own situation means legally. For tax, speak to a qualified tax adviser or Revenue. For legal questions, speak to a solicitor.
- Exchange and wallet support. We do not run, represent or have access to any exchange, wallet or bank account, so we cannot unblock, reset or recover one. Contact the provider directly through the support channel in its own app or on its official website.
- Recovery of lost or stolen crypto. We do not offer recovery services and we do not recommend any. If you have been scammed, read our guide to crypto scams in Ireland, then contact your bank and report to the Gardaí.
- Price tips or "which coin" suggestions. We do not provide these.
A note on impersonation
Fraudsters sometimes pretend to be websites, authors or support teams. To protect yourself: we will never ask you for your seed phrase, private keys, passwords or one-time codes, and we will never ask you to send us money or crypto. We do not hold funds for anyone. If a message claims to be from cryptocurrency.irish and asks for any of that, it is not us. Do not reply, and do not click links in it.
Emails from us will come from the contact@cryptocurrency.irish address. Be cautious about lookalike domains with an extra letter or a different ending. If you are unsure, write to the address on this page instead of replying to the suspicious message.
If you have lost money to a scam, the quickest help is your bank, then the Garda fraud page. The Central Bank's scams page explains how to report and what to look out for. For more about the site and who writes it, see about us, and our disclaimer explains the limits of what we publish.
