These terms apply to your use of cryptocurrency.irish (the "site"), which is run by its operators ("we", "us"). Please read them together with our disclaimer and privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Last updated: 5 October 2026.

1. Information only

The site publishes general information about crypto in Ireland: how it is bought, sold, stored and taxed, how it is regulated, and how to avoid scams. It is published for general information and education. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not take your circumstances into account. It is not an offer, invitation or recommendation to buy, sell or hold any crypto-asset or to use any service.

You are responsible for your own decisions. Before acting on anything here, check the primary source and, where it matters, speak to a suitably qualified professional, such as a tax adviser (see Revenue), solicitor or authorised financial adviser.

2. No warranty

We work hard to be accurate and we show the date we last checked key facts, but crypto rules, taxes, fees and providers' services change often. We give no warranty, express or implied, that anything on the site is accurate, complete, current or fit for a particular purpose. Pages may be out of date between checks. Fees, limits and regulatory statuses should always be confirmed with the provider or regulator concerned before you act. The site is provided "as is" and "as available", and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The site links to websites and services we do not own or control, including regulators, government bodies, exchanges, wallet makers and news sources. Links are provided for convenience and as references. They are not a recommendation or endorsement unless we say so expressly, and we do not control or accept responsibility for the content, availability, terms, fees or privacy practices of third-party sites. Your dealings with any provider are between you and that provider, under its terms. Some links to providers may be outbound commercial links, as explained on our about page.

A reference to a company's authorisation or register entry describes what the cited source showed on the date we checked. It is not confirmation that the company is suitable for you or that it will continue to be authorised.

4. Intellectual property

The text, structure, design, graphics and original images on the site belong to its operators or their licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the site, and you may quote short extracts with a clear credit and a link back to the relevant page, provided the quotation is fair and not misleading. You may not copy, republish, scrape, resell or build a competing dataset from substantial parts of the site without our written permission.

Names, logos and trade marks of third parties belong to their owners. Their use here is for identification only and does not imply any affiliation.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in a way that is unlawful or that harms others;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or related systems;
  • introduce malware, or overload the site with automated requests;
  • scrape the site at scale, or use it to train a commercial product, without permission;
  • misrepresent your relationship with us, or pretend that we have endorsed you or your business;
  • use our name, branding or contact details to deceive anyone.

6. Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site. This includes loss of money, profits, crypto-assets, data or opportunity, and indirect or consequential loss, whether it arises in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. In particular, we are not responsible for losses you suffer from trading or holding crypto-assets, from the acts or failures of third-party providers, from scams, or from decisions based on information that has since changed.

If you use the site as a consumer, your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

7. Reporting problems

If you find an error, an out-of-date fact or content that you believe infringes your rights, please tell us at contact@cryptocurrency.irish with the page and details. Our corrections approach is explained on the methodology page.

8. Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. For changes that matter, we will make the update clear on this page.

9. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can go to contact@cryptocurrency.irish. For general queries, use the contact page.
